Herefordshire Netball

Happy Birthday Hereford Walking Netball!

On Thursday 29th June Hereford Walking Netballers celebrated their 1st Birthday!

The Hereford group began as part of England Netball's pilot programme for the new initiative and sessions started at Hereford Leisure Centre in June 2016. After an extremely successful initial 10 week trial period, the programme has since flourished and over the last 12 months has welcomed over 25 ladies and gents back in to the sport.

With an average of 16 attending sessions each week, the group complete a fun warm up, small skill session and then finish with a game (with plenty of bib swapping and chat stops!)

The aim of the programme is to encourage ladies and gents of all ages and abilities back in to the game. It doesnt matter if individuals have never played before as sessions are based around fun, social netball.

To celebrate turning 1 year old, particpants donned their party hats and took part in a variety of party games, including musical balloons. Following the sessions the group celebrated with teas, coffees and mostly importantly a slice of cake!

Sessions run every Thursday monring at Hereford Leisure Centre from 10-11am. If you, or anyone you know, is interested in Walking Netball get in touch with Lindsay Hacking - lindsay.hacking@englandnetball.co.uk / 07545924953.
