Herefordshire Netball

County Academies
We are committed to developing our young netballing talent. The academy programme is about individual players:- improving their skills and athletic ability to maximise their potential. The academies are the first step on England Netball's performance pathway. It is from the County academies that the girls can move via screening through to regional academies, regional NTL and even England youth training given the right talent, dedication and hard work. We are very proud of Ellie Smith, a member of last years under 16 academy who is currently in the England under 17 squad and Becky Griffin a current under 16 who is in the Regional Academy - well done girls.
The county academies are not for match practice this needs to be gained through playing in junior clubs. (see our local clubs) and schools.
County Academies are run for:
- Under 12's
- Under 14's
- Under 16's
Trials are run each autumn with teachers proposing the players they feel most suitable. Girls who have been in the programme automatically get an invitation to trial for the following year.
